It is with grief and sorrow that we heard about the demise of his Excellency. Comrade Jose Santiago Chito Sta. Romana, Ambassador of the Philippines to China, a prominent fighter for peace and our respected friend.

His passing away is a great loss for not only his family but also people’s movements of the Philippines, as well as in Asia and Europe.

The Asia-Europe People’s Forum honours this charming personality, and especially to the great contributions to the work of the Peace and Security Cluster where he was a regular contributor. We remember his work for peace and human security.

The AEPF would like to convey its profound condolences to the family and loved ones of Ambassador Chito and strongly believe that his efforts to advance the cause of world peace will continue, and his tremendous contribution will be his legacy to us and generations to come.
